In remembrance of the cherished Bossie Phillips (4/15/01 - 7/26/57), a stalwart Christian and devoted family man, his life was a testament to hard work, love, and faith. Born in Lexsy, Georgia on April 15th, 1901 to the industrious Sherman Phillips, Bossie grew up embracing resilience, responsibility, and a heart for hospitality.

With God at the center of his life, Bossie instilled these values in his family and community. His dedication to God led him to serve as a deacon within his local Baptist Church, evidence of his unyielding commitment to faith. An embodiment of warm elegance, Bossie's handsome appearance and well-groomed stature showcased both his natural refinement and hardworking spirit.

Bossie's love for his family and deep care for others were unmistakable. He cherished his loving wife Katie Phillips throughout their 36-year union; together they raised their thirteen children with steadfast devotion. Generously offering hospitality to friends and visitors alike, Bossie's welcoming nature ensured that all in his presence felt valued and cared for.

A highly skilled worker in various fields—railroad work, agriculture, timber, and brick masonry—Bossie pressed on resiliently through the course of his life. His passion for masonry extended beyond the profession to become a 32-degree Prince Hall Mason in Georgia. Moving from farming in 1950 to living amongst relatives in New Jersey and later Cincinnati, Ohio before ultimately returning to Trenton—the lessons from Bossie's life will continue to inspire generations.
